Rob 3.0 | Birthday Plan 16-18th March

“At twenty years of age the will reigns; at thirty, the wit; and at forty, the judgment”
– Benjamin Franklin

Now I don’t for one second think my birthday warrants a 3-day celebration, let alone a webpage to commemorate it. But given we have a clan from across the high seas in town, I wanted to plan ahead for the inevitable siege of New York. Yes, a #hashtag is taking the piss, but will be used by friends to track our whereabouts.

On Tuesday 14th we have the Knicks v Brooklyn Nets at Madison Square Gardens and Wednesday 15th things kick off with Rory Leyne’s Mexican birthday dinner.

So below is the plan for my birthday weekender.

Breakfast @Clinton St Bakery

  • Tenement Museum
  • Walking tour
  • Washington Sq Park
  • Tour of West Village Galleries
  • High Line

Drinks @Mr. Purple

Rendezvous @Rob’s Apartment, before 1-stop train ride to Williamsburg

Activity @Brooklyn Bowl (TBC)

Dinner @Mable’s Smokehouse
Drinks @Berry Park (rooftop), @Kinfolk 94

Coffee and Meet @Caffe Vita, 124 Ludlow St
Light breakfast

Kick/off @Kilarney Rose

1pm Lunch @Fraunces Tavern

Paddy’s Pub Crawl @The Dead Rabbit, @Stone Street Tavern & @Ulysses
Sights dependent on weather (and level of drunkness): Battery Park, 9/11 Memorial, St. Paul’s Chapel of Trinity Church Wall Street

6pm Robert Oliver’s Green & Gold Dinner @Louie and Chan
9pm Green & Gold Birthday @Loreley

Now after a good few days hitting it hard, Saturday will be kept flexible. The idea is to meet for a hangover brunch at one of my favourite spots and let the day play out.

Brunch @Boulton & Watt

Few suggestions:

For the curious, the @The LowLine
For the adventurous: Boat out to Red Hook (South Brooklyn) or train to MoMa PS1 (Astoria, Queens)
For the hungover @The Grafton for the 6 Nations
For the Time Out crowd @New Museum
